  • Pre- Kindergarten Information

    Class Offerings for 2013-2014

    Please Note: Children must be toilet trained.

    3 year old Program (must be 3 by September 1, 2013)

    Tuesday/Thursday Mornings
    8:45-11:15am
    (class size limited to 13 students)
    Tuition: $110 per month

    3 1/2, 4 & 5 year old Program
    (must be 4 by January 1, 2014)

    Monday/Wednesday/Friday Mornings
    8:45-11:15am
    (class size limited to 13 students)
    Tuition: $165 per month

    4 & 5 year old All Day Programs
    (must be 4 by September 1, 2013)

    Your child can be at school 2 or 3 days per week:
    Monday & Wednesday

    Tuesday & Thursday
    Tuesday, Thursday & Friday

    8:45am-2:45pm
    (class size limited to 17 students)
    Two Days per week: $220 per month
    Three Days per week: $330 per month

  • Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum

    Our curriculum uses themes of study centered on the young child and his world.
    Three-year-old children have a modified version of these skills.

    • How a book is read (left to right and top to bottom)

    • Each letter has a name and can recognize the letters in their name
    • Beginning letter sounds in words
    • Rhyme
    • Retell a story
    • Notice print around them
    • Recognize own name in print

    Number Readiness:
    • Recognize numerals one to ten
    • Count to twenty and count ten objects
    • Make a simple pattern
    • Sort by color, size and shape
    • Copy simple geometric shapes
    • Recognize groups of objects
    • Understand the concept of more and less

    Self-Help Skills:
    • Bathroom needs, wash hands, dress self, Kleenex use
    • Put toys away
    • Know their whole name

    Motor Skills:
    • Large muscles: walk a line, stand and hop on one foot, catch and throw
    • Small muscles: block building, scissors use, draw, copy, pencil hold, puzzles, paste, draw a person, string beads

    Themes of Learning

    Themes of study will be in the monthly newsletter as they may vary from year to year,
    month to month or between schools. Each week has a letter of the alphabet,
    song/finger-play and art project.

    Holy Cross Catholic School offers a strong religious and academic based education for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.   • After School Care

    Holy Cross Catholic School offers an After School Care Program for students in Pre-Kindergarten All Day class through 6th grade. The hours of operation are from 2:45-6 pm on school days only. This program is not available during school breaks.

    During After School Care students will receive a snack and plenty of opportunities to play inside and outside as well as assistance with homework if needed.
