Holy Cross School has many ongoing fundraisers, as well as one-time fundraisers.  Below is a list of fundraisers for the 2012-2013 school year:

Ongoing Fundraisers

Scrip Program - Over the school year and once a month during the summer, Holy Cross Catholic School places orders with the Great Lakes Scrip Program.  With this program, parents, parishioners, supporters are able to purchase gift cards from hundreds of retailers.  Each retailer then gives a percentage to the school for ordering their gift cards.  At Holy Cross School half of the profit goes into the general maintenance fund, while the other half is applied either to our Angel Fund or a designated families tuition.

Holy Cross is always collecting the following:  Campbell's Labels, Box Tops , Milk Moola/Milk Caps, Target Red Card,  Receipts for Education (September 1, 2012 – March 31, 2013), and Coborn's Labels for Learning.

One-Time Fundraisers & Events

Annual Golf Outing– The Annual Golf Outing used to take place every July but now takes place in September.  Money raised is primarily received from sponsorships by businesses and individuals.  This event is a great fundraiser for both golfers and non-golfers, and it is currently held at Boulder Pointe Golf Course in Elko New Market.

Family Spaghetti Night– This year the spaghetti dinner will kickoff our 2012 Marathon.  It will be held on Friday, September 28th from        5-7 pm in the school gym.  This event is sponsored by our CPO.

Marathon- Kick-off for the Marathon is the second week of school.  This year, our Marathon will be a "Service Marathon" starting the week of October 1, 2012.  Each grade, Pre-K through 8th, will participate in a community service project.  Each K-8 family is required to raise $100 per student in pledges.  Families with multiple children need to raise a minimum of $200.

Harvest Dance – This year the dance will be the conclusion of our 2012 Marathon.  There will be fun activities for the students, recognition of the class who raised the most money per student and a DJ dance to celebrate a successful fundraiser.

Christmas Poinsettias- The Poinsettias are sold during the month of November.  This fundraiser is sponsored by the CPO.

Fish Fry- held at the Legion in Lonsdale.  This event is co-sponsored by the FCSLA #56 and is held every year on the first Friday after Ash Wednesday.

Silent Auction and Casino Night – This event will be on Saturday, April 13, 2013 in the school gym.  Doors open at 4:30 PM. $50 Raffle tickets will be sold prior and during the event.  Each purchased raffle ticket is good for free entry into the Silent Auction, dinner, one drink ticket and a chance to win $3000, $2000, (2) $1000, or (2) $500 cash prizes.  Pre-Kindergarten families are required to sell or purchase one $50 ticket.  Kindergarten thru 8th grade families are required to sell or purchase a minimum of five $50 tickets.
 
Spring Flowers – This fundraiser is a chance for you to purchase your bedding flowers and annual baskets. Order forms go home in March/April.

What is Scrip?

Holy Cross School purchases gift certificates/cards from popular retailers (Cub Foods, Kohls, Kwik Trip, etc.) at a discount. Parents and school supporters then buy the gift certificates from the school at face value. The difference in price is kept by the school (1/2 will go to the general fund and the other 1/2 goes to either tuition or the Angel Fund). Parents then spend the scrip at the retailer, where it’s worth the full face value.

 
How will the Scrip Program work at Holy Cross School?
 
All orders are due in the office by Monday at 8 AM and will be available for pick up that Thursday. Order forms are available in the school office, or you can email Joy Sutton at joys@holycrossschool.net with your order. A complete retailer list can be found at www.glscrip.com. You are able to order Scrip for any retailer listed on that site. 
 
When is the Scrip Program Available?
 
The Scrip Program is a year-round program. Since your grocery shopping and gift giving do not stop during the summer, you will be able to purchase Scrip once a month during the summer.
 

How to receive tuition credit:

Every time you, a family member, or anyone who designates you as the family to receive a tuition credit from their Scrip order places an order, 50% of the school's profit from each order will be credited to your child's tuition.

Each week we place a Scrip Order on Monday mornings.  The school profits from each order, between 1-15% depending upon the retailer purchased.  Now, you will receive 50% of the school's profit as a tuition credit. For example, you purchase a $100 Cub gift card.  There is a 2% rebate, therefore, you will receive a $1 tuition credit.  Even though this seems small, if you were to purchase $300 each month from Cub, you would receive a $36 tuition credit for buying your groceries for the next year.   

Imagine how this can add up, when you start buying cards for gas stations, restaurants & gifts! 
 
REMEMBER:  Scrip Order forms go home every Thursday, and orders are due every Monday morning by 8 AM.

How to place an Order

Due Date:
All Scrip Orders are due on Mondays at 8 AM.  The orders will then be processed and will be available for pick up on Thursday of the same week.

Please email Joy Sutton at joys@holycrossschool if you have an order to place. For a complete list of participating retailers, visit www.shopwithscrip.com. 

Online Ordering: If you wish to order online, you can register at www.shopwithscrip.com. You will need the school's enrollment code to link your order with Holy Cross School's account. This code is A526C8DL1325L. Upon completing the registration, you can order online. You will need to print out a copy of the online order and send it and your payment to school by Monday at 8 AM or use the Presto Pay option.

Payment:
Payment must accompany the order form.  You may pay with cash or a check (payable to Holy Cross School).
